For those of you who missed it (boo), last night was Shannon Armishaw’s vernissage, Rose Tinted (see previous post). It was a lovely event with great food and fantastic art…what could make up a more perfect thursday evening? I’ve posted pics of the event and hope that you will all come down and check out Shannon’s work, which will be in the Flock Boutique gallery until Aug 31st. A number of her pieces have sold, so come out soon! (-:
I would be remiss if i didn’t mention Shannon’s friend Sarah Jamal whose catering company Nomadic Kitchen (www.nomadic-kitchen.com) catered the party. Pulled duck was my favourite…ummm…just thinking about it now makes me want to hop on a bus to Sarah’s house for her indian styled yummy apps! Many of you know my 3 year old Ayan, a regular at Flock Boutique, who almost munched Sarah out of house and home (see pic)! Congrats to both Shannon and Sarah on a lovely event.
okay, so the pics aren’t fabulous (i’m sure those you who read our blog are getting use to my lack of photography skills!), but the mini-makeover sure is! A couple of weeks ago Workshop got the lovely vinyl lettering that christina and i had talked about for 6 years and yesterday it was Flock’s turn! Come over and check it out for yourself!
So we finally opened our gallery space, whew! It’s been a long time coming, and thanks to the lovely and talented Laura Fauquier who somehow managed to organize it all without us even noticing, the gallery has come to life! Our first artist, Flock’s very own Terry Charette, is showing her work May 1st – 31st. Come in and check it out! Here are pics of the vernissage which took place May 5th, thanks to everyone who came out and packed the shop!
i know i haven’t posted pics of the workshop renovation yet (it looks beautiful – bright, sunny, airy! – by the way) but i am at flock today and wanted to share pics of our lovely new classroom space! i taught a class here last week and it was soooo much fun that each one of you should come right on in and sign up for a class with us! check earlier posts for our february/march schedule!

after talking about it for years, christina and i finally bit the button press bullet and bought a bright red kinda hard core button press! that means we can now do all the fun things you have been asking us to do…like buttons for the whole family, wedding buttons, kiddie buttons, buttons with slogans…okay, i’m having a forrest gump moment, but you know what i mean! the pic above of our lovely and fantastic co-op student tracey busily making buttons…go tracey!
