Sew Your Own Tote Bag – for beginners! $50+hst

Saturday, Sept 17th, 1-3pm

In this class Heidi will take you through the basics of sewing while you make your own wonderfully functional (and cute!) tote bag with french seams, hems and super sturdy handles! All materials provided. Please let us know if you would like to bring your own machine.

 

Knitting for Beginners $59+hst

Tuesday Sept 20th,27th and Oct 4th, 6:15-7:45pm

Flock’s fabulous Caddy Ledbetter (co-author of Mother-Daughter Knits) can teach anyone to knit!  She has created a casual, informal beginner class where you can learn the basics of knitting. Students have the option of knitting a pair of arm warmers or a scarf, so go ahead, sign up and make your own winter accessories! Yarn and needles are included.

 

Intermediate Knitting $59+hst

Tuesday Sept 20th,27th and Oct 4th, 7:45-9:15pm

Caddy has made this fun intermediate project-based knitting class for those who have knit before but want to learn new skills like knitting in the round, purling, increasing and decreasing while making their own fabulous legwarmers or a hat! Yarn and needles included.

 

Make your own Hand-Bound Note Books! $48+hst

Thursday Sept 22nd, 5:30-8:30pm

Use your own printed papers or recycled papers to make unique hand bound books.  In this workshop you will learn how to make a simple saddle-stitched book and a japaneese stitched notebook, great for recording your thoughts and fantastic as gifts! Bring in your own unique materials for the cover. Blank pages and tools will be provided.

 

Sew Your Own Fabric Storage Box – for beginners! $50+hst

Saturday, September 24th, 1-3pm

Get organized with a lovely fabric box. Learn to sew by making a simple box, then go home and make more in whatever size your clutter demands. All materials provided. Please let us know if you would like to bring your own machine.

 

Make your own Gift Wrap and Cards! $48+hst

Thursday Oct 6th, 6-9pm

This is the season to put your own stamp (literally!) on the gifts you give! The lovely and talented Anne will teach you the basics of block printing: you will carve out your own unique design and then print it onto paper and note cards.  All tools, inks and paper provided.  You will leave with 10 sheets of your own unique wrapping paper and a variety of cards.

Saturday, Oct 15th, 1-4pm

In this class, Heidi will assist you in making your own classic A-line skirt with a fitted waist and zipper…what could be better than a wardrobe full of clothes made by little old you? Students must bring their own fabric, thread and a matching 7-9″ zipper.

Join Heidi Laing and create your own 60’s style summer dress à la Mad Men! This class will teach you to customize a pattern to fit you, install zippers, and create button loops and tidy hems. This class requires some sewing machine experience. Please bring 2.5m of cotton for your dress along with matching all-purpose thread. All other materials are provided. Please let us know if you need a sewing machine or will be bringing your own.

Adult Beginner Jewellery Class

You can learn all of the basics of beaded jewellery making in less than 3 hours! Bridget Remai, co-owner of Flock Boutique, will take you through the basic tools and techniques required to make beaded jewellery. You should leave the class with between 4 and 8 finished pairs of earrings.

In this workshop, Heidi Laing will teach you to create your own easy-breasy summer dress that’s just as cute over your suit for a day at the beach as it is for strolling around town. This class will teach you to customize a pattern to fit you, sew French hems, make tidy hems and button holes, create draw strings and bias tape. This class is beginner friendly but some experience with a sewing machine is recommended. Please bring 2.5m of cotton fabric for your dress and a spool of matching all-purpose thread. All other materials are provided. Please let us know if you need a sewing machine or will be bringing your own.
